GALBOX is a system solution for the construction of year-round hall structures as an alternative to traditional year-round steel hall structures. It is a modern proposition for investors looking for a simple solution, which guarantees production and assembly of a hall structure in a short time and at an affordable price. Galbox is made of thin-walled GALVER profiles, made of steel tapes, coated with a zinc layer or Magnelis coating. Cold-bent (cold-rolled) GALVER sections, being a product of excellent quality, are an attractive alternative to hot-rolled profiles. GALBOX system hall structures are made of carbon steel and structural steel, designed for cold processing. The batch material is produced by the best European smelters and has the necessary certificates and meets the highest European quality standards. Industrial halls are the main application of GALBOX structures. They can also be used as a supporting structures for facilities such as free-standing cafes, garages, warehouses, shopping halls, freezers and cold stores.
Magnelis sheathing is recommended in harsh atmospheric environments due to its excellent corrosion resistance - three times better than zinc. One of the unquestioned advantages of the Magnelis sheathing is its self-healing effect, providing excellent edge protection.
After the GALBOX system was created, a prototype was made, which was subjected to destructive tests in order to confirm strength calculations and the load-bearing capacity of the modular structure. The design and research stage was carried out with the participation of the Gdańsk University of Technology.
Transport is carried out with the use Transport International Routier (TIR) lorries. The GALBOX construction is initially twisted during transport, which allows for a significant reduction in the cost of assembly. The foundations required for the GALBOX structure are simple and do not require specialized equipment. This is an extremely rigid structure, prefabricated in the production plant, and as a result the assembly time on the construction site is extremely reduced as compared to traditional steel halls. The structure does not require welding as it is joined by twisting.
Footings connected with foundation beams are the most common method of foundation of steel hall structures. The GALBOX hall structure is fixed to the foundations by glued anchors or embedded anchors.
The most common equipment of the hall structures include: gates (sliding or sectional, manual or electric), doors, windows, roof lights (ridge or roof), wall mounted longlights (ridge or wall), gravity or mechanical ventilation and guttering.
When it comes to GALBOX structures, trapezoidal sheets or sandwich panels are used as sheathing. It is possible to construct a hall structure with a single pitched roof, with a slope of 5 to 15 degrees.
